The mechanical libraries
We made use of the wrapping technique to re-implement large
portions of the translational and rotational 1D mechanical
libraries of the Modelica standard library using bond graph
technology. These models have the same touch and feel as the
corresponding models contained in the standard library. However,
they are not combinable with the corresponding models of the
Modelica standard library, because the translational and rotational
connectors of the wrapped libraries are different from the
corresponding connectors of the standard library. Since bond graphs
operate on forces (torques) and velocities (angular velocities), it
was important to include velocity information in the connectors,
whereas the corresponding connectors of the standard library carry
only positional information.
