IEEE 57-bus system benchmark formed with 57 buses, 7 generators, 3
shunts, 16 transformers, 1 phase shifter, 63 lines, 1 HVDC line and
42 loads, with a line disconnection
In this test case, the interaction between a phase shifter
transformer and an HVDC line is shown.
For that an HVDC line parallel to the lineB29B52 is added to
the original IEEE 57-bus model and the transformer TfoB7B29 is
modeled as a phase shifter transformer monitering
TfoB7B29.P1Pu.
At t = 150 s, the lineB29B52 is disconnected. It means that
the current now will pass through the HVDC line.
Also, the monitored value of the power falls below the minimum
range, so the phase shifter will have to react after 25 seconds if
PMonitored < PMin.
Meanwhile the power passing through the HVDC in AC emulation
is increasing.
After 25 s, the phase shifter passes a tap, that changes the
phase, resulting in the increase of power.
With the dynamic of the HVDC, PMonitored is between the
accepted range.
