H+ gas
Assumptions:
- The radius (for the purpose of the rigid-sphere assumption of
kinetic theory) is that of H (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen).
Additional notes:
- The default reference enthalpy is zero at 25 °C.
- The source data [McBride2002]
breaks the data into three temperature ranges, but the constants
are the same for each. Therefore, the temperature limits are set
here such that the entire range is handled without switching. The
lower temperature limit in the source data is 298.150 K, but
here it is expanded down to 200 K. The constants are
independent of temperature anyway.
- The enthalpy to produce H+ from H2O
(H2O ⇀ OH- + H+)
is -96569.804 J/mol. The enthalpy to produce H+
from H3O+
(H3O+ ⇀ H2O + H+)
is 839826.0 J/mol. Based on [Tissandier1998],
the enthalpy of formation of aqueous H+ is
1150.1e3 J/mol.
